Suede Lane is an exciting new way to buy original design products. Human and artificial intelligence are used to curate and sell original goods from emerging artists and designers worldwide. We are also developing a new way for people to develop their taste without needing to be a “connoisseur” or know any industry jargon. I.e. one should not have to know what “impressionism” is to find, buy and enjoy a painting in that style. At Suede Lane, we are building a brand, not just a startup.
Come help drive the Design Revolution! We are looking for:
A CMO/COO to help increase traction via activities that drive sales and brand awareness.
•Industry background in related premium retail sectors (art, fashion, home decor)
•Inspired by design but understand that logistics makes the world go round. E-commerce startup and/or logistics experience a plus.
•Located in or open to eventually relocating to North America and available immediately on a full-time basis.
•High tolerance for change & ambiguity and understanding that startups are about finding product-market fit via experimentation.
A CTO to help shape and scale a system for taste discovery in an e-commerce setting.
•Interested in using the intersection of human and artificial intelligence to shape how we discover and cultivate our taste in design.
•Adept at related areas e.g. contextual recommendations, natural language UI/processing, machine learning, etc.
•Background in scalable e-commerce, previous experience in art/design related e-commerce a plus.
•Located in or open to eventually relocating to North America and available immediately on a full-time basis.
•High tolerance for change & ambiguity and understanding that startups are about finding product-market fit via experimentation.
INTERNS to help tell the story of Suede Lane, improve the user experience and enhance its brand. Applicable areas: marketing/pr social media, design and technical development. If you’re currently a student, we can also work with your school to ensure you receive academic credit for your involvement.
Location: Toronto, CA and virtual/remote work ok. Suede Lane is currently bootstrapped with compensation on an equity basis. Our spirit animals are: Design, Purple, & Prince.
